    Studio 05 has just had a brand new renovation and I'm sure you're going to love it! 
    This apartment features a small but separate bedroom which makes it perfect for couples with a child or just friends who want a bit more privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need and the entire 35 sqm is for your use only. 

    A delightful self-contained studio apartment in a period residence. This newly refurbished apartment has been completely remodelled but manages to retain all of its period features and charm.
    As an added feature this apartment has a separate bedroom with a comfortable full size single bed, ideal for couples or persons travelling with a child or for friends who just enjoy their own space. 
    As with our other apartments great care has gone into choosing the interior furnishings and fittings, and we have made a special effort to ensure that everything you will need for you stay, from bedding to pots and pans to hairdryers and ironing board….are provided for your use. 
    This residence features a communal laundry room, with washing machines and tumble dryers, which although not free are heavily subsidised and you can wash a load from just £2. 
     As you can see in the photos there is a comfortable lounge area and the additional convenience of a table and chairs for dining. 
    The flat screen TV is 49'' HD 4K and the picture quality is excellent, it's mounted on a special bracket so as you can see it from where ever you are in the room. 
    Free WiFi is included and the code is made available in the guests welcome book which you can find in the apartment, together with a host of other information which we consider you may find useful.  

    As a general rule I prefer stays of four days or longer but shorter periods  may be available so please ask if in doubt.

  • The following is information on how to get to the apartment from various Airports, it’s up to date and accurate so you can use it to plan your journey.  

    Instructions for travelling to the apartment from London's Heathrow Airport. 

    There are several ways to reach the apartment from London’s Heathrow Airport and of course it's up to you (and your budget) to decide.


    Private car hire/taxi is a great option and I can recommend an excellent car service which you can easily book online.  When you at the airport they will be waiting with a placard with your name on.

    They will take you directly to the apartment and the drive takes around 50 minutes or more depending on the traffic. 
    Expect to pay around £55 for up to four people. Larger vehicles are available for those with lots of luggage or larger groups. For four persons with minimal luggage this works out at less than £15 each so is well worth considering particularly when you factor in the hassle of getting on and off trains with baggage and/or children.
    Another option is by underground from Heathrow. Take the Piccadilly Line from the terminal 1-2-3 and get off at ‘Gloucester Road’ underground station. This takes about 36 minutes. Change platform for the ‘Victoria Line’ board the train and get off at ‘London Victoria’. This takes about 6 minutes.  
    Victoria is a main line station and here you must leave the underground part of the station and go to the main overland part. You can board a fast (14minutes) overland train directly to East Croydon. Remember there is no underground train to East Croydon but a fast and regular overland service. 
    Check the board at the station for you next fastest train to East Croydon and take that train. When you arrive at East Croydon, exit the station at the FRONT entrance/exit that is using the ramp at the end of the platform not up the steps in the middle.

    Turn left out of the front and you will see a taxi rank, you can take a taxi from here if you wish, costs around £5 or make the 12-minute walk to the apartment. 
    The journey takes around 1hr 15mins and will cost around £12 each person. 


    There is also an option by bus. The X26 runs from Heathrow Airport terminal bus station and goes to East Croydon Station.  This apparently costs around £2 and the journey takes 1hr 40 minutes plus, depending on the traffic. Great value but a bit slow.  

    Instructions for travelling to the apartment from London's Gatwick Airport:

    Although you can travel by taxi from Gatwick airport (see link above) I recommend that you travel by train, it is fast, inexpensive and very convenient.

    When you arrive at Gatwick Airport follow the signs for the train station. If you are in a different terminal you may have to make a short hop using their shuttle. 
    Once at the station purchase a ticket for East Croydon Station and check the departure board for the next fastest train and the relative platform. 
    The journey normally takes around 20 minutes and most trains go directly to East Croydon or make very few stops. 

    Instructions for travelling to the apartment from London's Stanstead Airport:

    Once again please consider the taxi company I recommend; www.airporttaxis-uk.co.uk using this company a taxi from Stanstead airport is around £70 excellent value when you consider that the journey by train involves several changes. 

    If you do decide to travel by train this is what you need to do:

    When you arrive at Stanstead Airport follow the signs for Stansted Airport train station, purchase a ticket for East Croydon.  
    Take the train to Tottenham Hale Underground station, trains run every 10 minutes and it takes around 32minutes. 
    Change here for the underground to London Victoria takes 20min and runs every 5 minutes. 
    Once at London Victoria check the departure board for the next fastest train to East Croydon and proceed to the relative platform, takes 14 mins and they are every 5 minutes. Cost is around £25. 

    A cheaper way to travel is by taking the bus or express coach from Stanstead Airport directly to Victoria and taking the train from there. Coach is normally about £10 and the train from Victoria is around £6. 
     
    Instructions for travelling to the apartment from London's Luton Airport:

    Once again you can take the taxi but the train ride is relatively painless given that it is a direct route to East Croydon station and the trains are frequent.

    Once at Luton Airport find a train ticket vendor or machine and purchase your ticket for East Croydon. 
    Proceed outside to the bus station where you will find the shuttle bus which will take you directly to Luton Parkway rail station and normally takes just a few minutes. 
    At the station check to departure board for the next fastest train to East Croydon, normally platform four. 

    When you arrive at East Croydon, exit the station at the FRONT entrance/exit that is using the ramp at the end of the platform not up the steps in the middle.

    Turn left out of the front and you will see a taxi rank, you can take a taxi from here if you wish, costs around £5 or make the 12-minute walk to the apartment. 
    It's a direct train and normally takes around 1 hour 15 minutes. Cost is around £17. 

    Alternatively, you can take a coach to Victoria but there is not a lot of point to this other than if the trains aren't running or you feel a strong desire to sample London's famous traffic! :-)

      Great stay would advise to anyone Great stay would advise to anyone, although I never met Gary he was so quick on responding to any issues I had or problems. It almost feels like your own little cosy flat for a short time. If I was staying in Croydon for a lot longer I would of tried to rent the place on a permanent basis

      Gary was a fantastic host throughout my stay I stayed at this studio room for a whole month and it had absolutely everything I needed! It's close to public transport, small supermarkets and takeaway stores (all within 10-15min walk). Gary was a fantastic host throughout my stay. He was always contactable, responds promptly and is very organised in that he is well equipped with back up plans if anything unpredictable comes up. Thanks Gary for the wonderful stay :)

      The flat is cosy and clean and very nicely decorated Gary is extremely helpful. He responded fast whenever I texted him with an enquiry and helped arrange for early check in and late check-out due to my flight timings. The flat is cosy and clean and very nicely decorated. For the price, its fantastic value for money and I have not regretted choosing to stay here. The area is relatively quiet and safe. I came back to the apartment many times late at night and didn't experience and dangerous/scary encounters. Thanks Gary! Will def come back to stay here next time I'm in croydon!

      Would definitely recommend! Gary's place was a great little find. It is exactly as described and has everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well kitted out and has everything you need to cook and every little detail has been well thought out. The building is very quiet so it's easy to get a good nights sleep. It's also very conveniently located to shops and transport with trains going frequently in every direction. I was very happy with the place will stay again when back in London. Would definitely recommend!
